Gerardo Gaytán is a Mexican tenor, born in the border town of Tijuana, Baja California. His voice was often characterized as “velvety”, powerful, sensuous and passionate.
He studied with the internationally known Pandeli Lazaridi of the Lazarideus Voice Academy, who has helped the tenor launch his professional career. Now Mr. Gaytan is mastering his vocal talent with Bill Schumann.
Mr. Gaytán has performed in México and the United States. His repertoire includes such cult roles as Alfredo Germont in La Traviata, Cavaradossi in Tosca, Manrico in Il Trovatore, as well as Neapolitan songs, international art songs, and Mexican music.
Mr. Gaytan’s current engagements include the role of Mario Cavaradossi at Puccini’s Tosca, Opera in the Heights in Houston, TX.
